  art deco  The Art Deco movement started in the 1920s, and the reason it started was because people were split; some people were focused on things being functional, while the others were focused on things looking good. It ended up in more of the second groups favorer more with Art Deco being very bold and glamorous and ends up looking very luxurious. heroic modernism  This week we talked about heroic modernism, which lasted from the 1900s to the 1950s. Heroic modernism was heavily influenced by the world around it, meaning historical events like WW1 and all the technological advancements that were happening around it. After the war, people wanted to change up the dyeing style and rejected the old and created a new one. In this time, buildings were made with lots of steel, concrete, and glass. Frank Lloyd Wright, Walter Gropius, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, and Le Corbusier contributed a lot for this area of design.
